Advertising industry valued at £5.1bn GVA(DCMS Creative Industries Statistical Bulletin September 2006)
The figure for advertising is from 2004 (the latest figures the government seem to release), so it may well be even higher now.
If you are interested in this, the Advertising Statistics Yearbook 2007 has calculated the size of the advertising industry as 1.48% GDP which I also thought was interesting.
